But no. Just no. It had some good moments, but it was contrived even for a murder mystery. Have you any idea how difficult it is to keep a tattoo on the bottom of your foot? And how did Holmes miss the beginning of the translated cipher but make a connection that led from a wet telephone book to a flat above a shop being connected to everything?

Completely inconsistent, bland, and don't even get me started on Watson's new love interest. Are they just going completely ignore Morstan? OK, well, I would if I could, but I'm not writing a Holmes adaptation for the BBC.

Next week's episode had better shape up or this is going to turn into another Asylum film. Only it will be worse, because there will be three of them.

I always thought Miss Morstan was a turning point for their relationship personally. It gave them both a chance to breathe, which is good, because you can tell that things are getting strained by Hound. She also meant poor Watson didn't just jump into the Falls after Holmes after the Final Problem.

I suppose they'll go with Sandra to fill that role now though. She seems pretty competent.

No, see, harassment would be me coming over and touching you on the face while you slept or something.

Get it right.

Well, even though Mary showed up in the second book ACD wrote, that was six or so years after Holmes and Watson met, yes? TBB takes place only a month or two after ASIP. It would be not unreasonable for Watson to have dates with a few other women first.

But then they brought Moriarty in in the first episode. So whatever. They're gonna do what they're gonna do.

I still think 'Anthea-not-really' is Mary :-)
