I saw this while I was out today and thought it was interesting. It's as though the bird simply gave up on life right then and there. Could you imagine what it might be like to have the ability to simply will yourself to death? I'm sure that's not what killed this bird, but it's still fascinating.

On a more serious note, I actually worked on a database for tracking dead birds in my city some years ago. They were concerned about that nasty virus spreading amongst the avifauna.
