Jul. 16th, 2011 07:42 amI am not, nor have I ever been on Dreamwidth.
Unlike the Tumblr account, I will advise you to ignore the Dreamwidth duplicate. This individual is impersonating me, apparently with the goal of starting drama under my name.
Do not engage.

Date: 2011-07-16 07:19 pm (UTC)My account was never hacked. I suspect the duplicate is only saying that because people lately have been speculating exactly that.

Date: 2011-07-17 01:49 am (UTC)This person is also on Holmeschat and is impersonating me over there as well. Honestly, I can't believe anyone fell for it.

Date: 2011-07-17 02:16 am (UTC)Although we don't know each other very well, we have chatted a bit - tell me one thing you think would prove it's you, and something the impostor wouldn't think to say.
If I'm going to take sides, I need to be sure of my facts. (Although I'm not wading into that pile of insanity at HC to take a side. Ick.)

Date: 2011-07-17 02:30 am (UTC)However, it was only yesterday that I pointed out his need for a Brit picker in his posts, so it's doubtful that he would have used 'correct' spelling before then. Especially considering the state of his posts on HC.

Date: 2011-07-17 03:12 am (UTC)And true - no idea how long ago the hack took place. But the LJ CD seemed to be happy with the BBC adaption, and the DW CD isn't. The problem is that JF or any of your(?) other friends haven't really said (maybe they did, and I don't remember) what the real CD thought about the BBC adaption for comparison.
Although...one person with control of both CD and JFs journals would explain why you suddenly started talking to me, considering you've not friended my journal and I find it highly unlikely you stumbled over my Richie post. However, JF has friended my journal and would have seen it.
So.
I'll just sit back and watch, until I figure it out.

Date: 2011-07-17 03:36 am (UTC)Also - Which I will do, if the post is interesting. Flattery, rank flattery. Rants on Ritchie aren't interesting to anyone other than those that feel the same. And offensive screeds to anyone that doesn't. Such is the nature of fandom.

Date: 2011-07-17 03:41 am (UTC)And then there's the obligation factor. If your 'friend' posts something that they might deem important, they can get upset if you ignore the post.
It's easier to just read John's list, have any F-locked posts automatically filtered out, and pick out the interesting bits.

Date: 2011-07-17 03:49 am (UTC)At least, I hope not. Now I'm paranoid that I've offended lots of people.
But I suppose I thought by "principle" you meant something more than "I don't like anyone enough to friend them except rarely." Which is the position of more people than you'd think.

Date: 2011-07-17 09:52 pm (UTC)Or we need to invent some more terms as the internet keeps providing opportunities for interaction that don't have 'real' life equivalents ('real life' being another improperly-descriptive term - as if typing something on a blog is less 'real' than writing it on a piece of paper, or saying it in person).

Date: 2011-07-17 09:59 pm (UTC)ETA: Except he is using the icon a comment of mine inspired. I'm fond of that icon :-) Nothing against your pretty skull with the blue-purple background, of course; it's very cool.
