I wasn't going to post about this, but I suppose I probably should since it's part of that singular thing I've made myself promise to actually post about. It is part of keeping a blog, after all.

If you watch John's account, you no doubt heard about what happened last night. I do take responsibility for the leading events, but last night was purely an act of self-defence. I left the flat yesterday to avoid any trouble, and unfortnately crossed paths with a man to whom I owe a modest sum of money. It would seem as though this is a grudge he's still holding onto years later, as he attempted to collect from me right there on the spot. I don't actually have that sort of money, and certainly not in cash, and I'm not going to ask John to pay for my past mistakes. This was not an acceptable answer, and he seemed to be under the impression that I might suddenly transform into a cash point if he introduced his fist to my face.

I'm not sure if there were any witnesses to the event, as I was too occupied at the moment to check. It's entirely possible that I may become unavailable for some time starting Wednesday. I'm not sure, and I'd be lying if I said I'm not nervous about the outcome.

I don't know anything about my own country's legal system, much less yours, but it seems pretty straightforward that it's more the other guy's fault than yours. And unless the other guy has a stash of weapons grade defense lawyers in his garden shed, I can't see him managing a defense that sounds anything less than desperate.

If you're worried, you might be able to get legal advice from someone if you know any lawyers or policemen...
